Listed below are some of the many 'pet' farm animals that have come to us to live out their life. They are up for sponsorship for only £12 per month.

Hi my name is Bluebell and I was rescued from a front garden in the middle of a town. I was rescued just before NANNA started and you could say I was there 1st rescued horse and I am the reason why NANNA fought to get Higglety Pigglety Farm Rescue of the ground.

There are lots of charities helping small animals in Northamptonshire not not many helping farm animals that have been brought up as pets, so NANNA has branched out and has 6 acre's of land of us to play in.

We will not be leaving NANNA's care because so many horse's move around the country side from one home to another and not many of us have a home for life, but we do here at Higglety Pigglety farm rescue. Some of my friends here are very old and they creak when they work, but they are well looked after and the vet will advise when the time has come, not people who think they know what is best for us or because healthy young animals always look better than us old ones. I am only five years old and I have had over three thousand pounds spent on my leg, I will never be riden and all I will ever do is enjoy life on the field, being groomed and loved. Fed and sheltered if I want to go into the stable, but I prefer to be out in the field living free.

Hi my name is Shadow aka Katies little soldier, I came to stay at Higglety Pigglety (NANNA) when my Mummy died after she and some others including foals, were attacked by dogs. It's really sad because my mum's last breath was to push me out and I was premature and there was not much hope for me but they battled and kept me alive and NANNA came and took on the rest of my care and now I am a bit of a handful but I go on PR events with them and everyone love me but they keep calling me a pony, but I am a horse, mimature maybe but still a horse! My friend came with me and his name is Diddy aka Man with a mission and he is an invalid because when he was castrated he came around from the operation to quick and bolted a charged against the stable wall causing tremendous damage to his neck and shoulders. The vet told NANNA on my arrival that they could have 3 months then it would be the bullet for me! They allowed me to have freedom to do what I wanted to do the door to my stable was never bolted and I could have a wander if I wanted to. I could not walk too far when I first arrived, I hopped on my front legs and waddled everywhere. I was not in pain but I was frustrated because I use to charge everywhere. Now I can canter up the field and I refuse to go to bed unless I really have to, I just love being with all my friends here, Sharn and Strider the two huge shires always protects me if it rains, they come and stand beside me, Shadow and our other little friend Mr Pocket Rocket and the rain misses us. We could go into the stables if we wanted to but it is more fun being with the big ones.

Hi my name is Mr Pocket Rocket, Rocket for short and I was purchased by NANNA Petrina just in case Diddy or Shadow did not make it so the other one still had a life time companion, I am very good looking and would win all the prizes if they entered me into shows, but to be honest I like my life here, I get to do what I want (within reason), I have a stable, but very rarely use it because like the others I like to roam free in the field. Shadow is a pest because he always acts the naughty boy and he is spoilt, Diddy and I like to chase him around, ok, I do the chasing but Diddy puts me up to it!  We all three love to go out on our PR trips and we get extra hay for being good when we get back and if we are extra good we get apples and carrots too. Ok, we get them most days anyway but they always taste better after a PR trip.

Hi my name is Jackanory and I came to this country in the back of a lorry! I am Irish and I am frightened of my own shadow. As you can see my head collar is around my neck and my favourite trick is to stare you out and just when you think I am settled I will run off kicking out trying to hurt you. To have my hooves done I am sedated and the last time it still took four grown men to hold me down! Mind you I did sleep for two whole days after the experience, I think it was the drugs! I will take food from NANNA Carla's hand but I watch the other hand and any movement I'm off.  I dont go on any PR trips as I think I am to highly strung but perhaps one day. Like the horses I get to go where I want and when I have to go to the stables at night they just say "Jack bed." and off I trot into my stable. This I do because they look pitiful chasing me around the field and I feel sorry for them, oh yes, the carrots and apples in the bucket may have something to do with it as well!

Here you can see The Tamworths originally brought to breed from to help this rare breeds survival, however to do that you have to kill the piglets or at least take them to market and we can't do that so instead of being over run by the naughty Tamworths we castrated Wilber, much to the amusement of the vet, and now he lives happily with Hyacinth and Bucket (Bouquet) and their favourite game is emptying the the trailer when the fresh bananas arrive on site.
